Book Signing
For the past twelve years The Hotchkiss Library has hosted a Book Signing usually
on the first Friday in August. Local authors gather under white tents to sign and
sell their books to benefit the Library. The event features writers of all genres
from cookbooks to mysteries to award winning non-fiction, and for all age groups.
The Children's Tent is always a popular stop. This is truly one of Sharon’s most
anticipated annual events, and is a splendid opportunity to mingle with some of
our most celebrated writers.

Book Sale and Silent Auction
The Book Signing is just the beginning of our weekend long celebration for readers
each August. Everyone looks forward to the Book Sale that takes place on the Saturday
and Sunday following the signing. The north lawn of the Library holds books for
purchase and some truly special items for bid in our silent auction. Items are reasonably
priced and the selection of books is truly amazing. Browsing is encouraged, and
everyone leaves with at least one armload of treasures.
Special Events
The “Bevy of Buckleys” and “Eat, Drink and be Literary” are two of the most recent
special events brought to you by the Hotchkiss Library.
Each event highlighted the cultural and literary talent that is the pride of our
local community. And both were memorable occasions for those who joined us in support
of the Library.
